Well I thought I would have more time then it was quickly ripped away again anyway i’ve done a few bits and pieces on the World Headers Cup game, remember this is going to mainly be an experiment on whether people are more interested in themes than they are gameplay so it’s intentionally gonna be a bit simple (*cough*shite*cough*). Here’s a wee pic of who will be the Argentina player … any ideas who he looks like?
Easy, Easy Lionel … anyway other than that i have a basic version of the game up all ripped and toned down from the ned game with some temp graphics which looks completely mince but if I do get time hopefully i’ll be able to make the graphics semi-decent. Style over substance … is that the indie games way? We shall see.
Time, well i’ve finally got some so i’ll be updating the site alot more now with new details, games and other random mince. I’ve been thinking with all this additional time what could I do? Nedocalypse won’t be finished for a while so i’m thinking about doing an experiment of making a completely shite game that’s simple and themed.
Everyone must have seen those games on the indie marketplace? Another game with a Zombie in it, Drunk Zombies, Zombie massage, Avatar Zombie Wars massage extreme etc… So what is the next bandwagon? What genre would I be interested in making a simply mince game in? It then hit me in the face … The World Cup is coming! Football (Soccer to all the yanks) will be the next big thing so i’m gonna make a simple mince football themed game … will update more as I make.
So what else will I be up to … hammering Battlefield Bad Company 2! I’ve got a video capture card sitting here gathering dust as well so I might try and record some sessions of me getting beefed with some delightful scottish voiceovers.
Thought it was about time i put a couple of pictures up of the game so far, it is still completely work in progress but i’m quite pleased with how it is all coming along. The pictures are of the main menu and the first level of throwing bottles at Neds outside an off licence. Check them out:
Thought it was about time for a wee update on the game, finally got some time free from work so i’ve managed to update some of the menu system which i’ve been planning for a while. It’s basically a ned holding a bottle of “boakfast” while bobbing his head to the ned beats (sounds a bit shite but I like it). I’ve also managed to get a good bit done on some of the levels which i’ll hopefully record and stick in a trailer at some point. Other than that i’ve been sketching and trying out some bits and pieces art wise until I can get it into a style that I like.
So hopefully this week i’ll be able to get some more of the art work done (been too busy concentrating on code) and hopefully it will start to take a bit more shape. Still got loads to do but I think it’s looking pretty good so far but plenty still to do!

Before I get started, i don’t mean to generalise EVERY japanese game but lets say most japanese computer games. You know the ones, the games with spikey elf like people like this pie:
See that there … fucking hate it. What a load of guff, that kind of art work and styling just really puts me off of a game. There are so many games that fly out of Japan that look EXACTLY like these guys and it annoys me. Why do people buy that shite? COME UP WITH SOME NEW ART WORK!
Here I am last night at the end of the working week thinking about all the stuff I’m going to get done today. Art work for the ned game, update some of the code etc… Loads of stuff I want to get done but what did I get done? That’s right absolutely bugger all because as soon as I go to bed and wake up at 12 the next day it goes completely oot the windae. Instead I play games where you shoot virtual people in the virtual face and now I’m on a train to Glasgow after getting absolutely heehaw done. Still tomorrow is another day…
Does anyone else play this game alot? Everytime i fire it up there’s always some wee guy on that sounds about 8? Not only that parents seem to be oblivious to the fact that they are letting their children play a game that has extreme violence and is meant to be for adults … but who am I to judge when much hilarity is had from screaming kids on the game get posted on youtube.
